HOT HAM & CHEESE CHAFFLES are the answer to those sandwich cravings! I love a cheesy, melty sandwich just as much as anyone and this hot ham and cheese twist is a big hit in my house! The dijon mayo is the perfect dip!

Yep. I’m back at it with the chaffle recipes.

Can’t stop, won’t stop!

We started with the basic chaffle, moved on to things like pumpkin chaffles and Big Mac chaffles, and now here we are.

A hot ham and swiss chaffle.

Have you died and gone to heaven? Probably.

How to make ham and cheese chaffles:

The base recipe for chaffles is just 1 egg and 1/2 cup of cheese (usually shredded mozzarella).

ham and swiss chaffle batter

We’re mixing things up just a bit by using Swiss cheese for a sharper cheese flavor. I didn’t have a block of swiss on hand, so I just thinly sliced up some slices of swiss cheese. Worked just fine, but feel free to shred your cheese!

I also stirred in some deli ham that I chopped up along with a dash of garlic salt. (My garlic salt has parsley flakes in it, if you’re wondering what the green bits are in the photos!)

chaffle in waffle iron

Spoon half of the mixture into your mini waffle iron and cook for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. The waffle will crisp up a bit as it sets.

Repeat with the remaining batter.

Stir together some mayo and dijon to create the simple little dipping sauce.

I cut my chaffles in half and dipped away! You could also cut them into sticks or quarters or whatever you like!

The chaffle waffle maker:

You will need a mini waffle maker for this recipe.

Dash waffle maker

The Dash Waffle Maker comes in a variety of adorable colors (obsessed with the aqua!) and sells for around $10 on Amazon.

You can buy one right here

I’m hearing from readers that they are on backorder but people are receiving their order sooner than stated, so it might be worth it to go ahead and snatch one up quickly.

If you plan to serve chaffles to your whole family, I recommend getting this one instead – it makes 4 mini waffles at a time!

If you’d like to use a full size waffle maker, I’m sure you could, but you may need to double the recipe and you’ll likely on get one waffle, depending on the size of your machine.
