If you’re craving Chex Mix, you’ll want to check out these keto roasted walnuts! We’re using all the same flavors that are in a traditional Chex Mix, but we’re just using it to season walnuts. They are so tasty and hard to resist!

My mom got in the habit of bringing around a bowl of homemade Chex Mix during the holidays and now I just can’t handle letting the season pass without that salty, savory, crunchy snack mix!

Of course, traditional Chex Mix is loaded with all kinds of carbs, so I decided to just get creative and swap out all the crunchy bits (cereal, pretzels, crackers, etc.) and dump the seasoning over walnuts.

Y’all this is the best snack I’ve had in a while. Big, bold flavors and it’s low carb!

How to:

To start, you’ll need 3 cups of halved walnuts.

I’m sure you could use any nut you have on hand – even a mix of nuts would be good here!

The seasoning blend is a mixture of melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, tabasco, seasoned salt, onion powder, and garlic powder.

If you’re sensitive to salt or your nuts are already salted to start, you’ll want to take it easy on the seasoned salt. Feel free to reduce it if you don’t like that salty punch.

Just mix everything together and spread it out onto a rimmed baking sheet.

These roast at 250 degrees for 30 minutes. You will want to be sure to stir them every 10 minutes so they don’t burn.

That’s it! Roasty, toasty, buttery walnuts with big, bold, savory flavor!

“Chex Mix” Roasted Walnuts

40 minutes

These roasted walnuts are my low carb spin on Chex Mix! The seasonings are the same as traditional Chex Mix, but we skip out on the cereal and just use it for roasting nuts.


  • 3 cups walnut halves
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Tabasco, more to taste


  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
  2. Add all of the ingredients to a mixing  bowl and stir well to coat the nuts in the seasoning.
  3. Spread the nuts on a parchment lined baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. 
  4. Let cool completely before storing in an air-tight container.


You may use any mix of nuts you prefer, however the carb count will change accordingly.
